Bosch BIM 024, 4-pin Bosch HEI electronic ignition module, manages the dwell time of your coil by reading the reluctor (magnetic pickup) signal from the points-less distributor, required if you are replacing your points distributor with electronic ignition but your distributor does not have any dwell/coil control circuitry, however this does not control the ignition timing like other bosch module's, This unit works the same as your points etc by releasing the negative (-) side of the ignition coil to cause the internal field to collapse which results in the spark, has been shown to work using regular single coil setups such as the GT40 ignition coil, could be used with the P3690430 Mopar Distributor use this where you want to convert points to pointless distributor system
Will work on chev / holden, ford and chrysler distributor's that are based on the reluctor (magnetic) points-less distributors.

Couple of questions... Any idea what the dwell times look like from this module? I'm interested in converting an old Magnetti Marelli distributor to pointsless and this looks like a good candidate. There isn't a ready-made solution easily available here as the Marelli Plex was not sold in the US in any great number. I'm going to have to retrofit a reluctor to the Magnetti distributor so I may hit the junkyard and pull some old Bosch and Chrysler distributors to see if I can make those parts work in this Italian jobby. What price are you selling these things for? (I'm in the USA) Cheers, Karl
I think they assume you are using something like the HEC 716 model Bosch electronic coil so the dwell time is suited for these modules, check out this article where i've graphed the output with the BIM024 bosch unit on my chrysler
Could also be used as a holden / chev / ford / chrysler HEI electronic ignition to replace early setups
